Now that I am starting to run maps it becomes exceedingly frustrating when I have to stop running a map because the lag is too severe. When I had the issues while leveling it wasn't much of a problem, I'd just ctrl-click and open a new instance which usually immediately remedied the issue (and got me to a different server). Though the 199.116.116.244 had a lot less severe lags (10ms spikes to 40ms, compared to 40ms with spikes to 1800ms). While most of them should be overseas there's also one from a German provider inbetween. There's no packet loss when doing traceroute to any of them. So first I would turn off IPv6 in your machine nic settings. No matter how much they say IPv6 is the s been 25 years they say that.many ISP still do not have as good pathing for IPv6 as IPv4. This is also partially done to prevent denial of service attacks against a router. The reason you see loss to intermediate routers is equipment is generally configured to favor actually passing data than responding to test ping packets. You can not have issuers in the path and it not actually cause issues on the final destination. If 80% of the time you drive though a intersection you get a new dent it means you still would have those dents when you get to your destination. Lets say the hops were intersections on way to work and packet less was big rocks hitting your car and putting dents into it. You can tell iRacing to use IPv6 for your connections to race servers by opening the iRacingUI, clicking. This is why people need to do ping and tracert by hand rather than depend on apps they click one button. All race farms now support both IPv4 and IPv6.
